Racing the Storm

So today I'm sitting in a Starbucks because my sister and parents are attending a meeting.  I have nothing else to do so I figured I would write a little.

I just thought of a scenario to post about so here goes:

What would Nancy Drew if she were at a Starbucks with a laptop and a love of writing?

The answer came obviously to me...she would write a mystery story.  So that's what I'm going to do.  This is going to be an ongoing post because I'm going to use this blog to post my outline ideas.  I figure that this will keep me going because I have a horrible habit of never finishing any of the story ideas I think up.

So I have about an hour and a half to write before my mom comes to pick me up from Starbucks.  Here's my goal:

Establish mystery.

Main Character and "detective": Sophie Ellis

The mystery: Sophie finds a scrapbook containing hand-drawn missing posters.  One of them flies out and is picked up by a mystery person.  Also, I'm thinking of having the maker of the scrapbook be watching Sophie discover the book.  Maybe all the disappearances have been caused by the same person.  I'm not really sure about the ending, but I know that Sophie will end up into this mystery way over her head.  She's also going to meet a private investigator at some point because it's classy.

It actually sounds like a promising idea to me...but time will tell I guess.

Till next time,
T.A. Rain
